or maybe I am still, because I wouldn't have written this if this little thing didn't bother me.
people in my class know me as a 'cleaning person'. I feel distracted when I see our classroom dirty... so I clean. but that trait doesn't really cover my entire personality, because, as they don't know I keep a lot of "junk" in my room.
I am the kind of person who never agrees to throw my things after a school year. so as a result, my room is stuffed with all the kinds of papers you could ever imagine--scraps, doodle papers, my classmates' notes, my quizzes, test papers, attendance slips, grade school drawings, flyers, brochures, reviewers, etc. (I'm not saying I have exactly every peice, not i have a whole lot). so anyway, to make the story short, since I already graduated high school, I HAD to dispose all of that because as my parents say, I have a lot of 'JUNK' in my room. of course, I didn't do that at once because I thought I just couldn't. could you? (don't answer that)
the reason behind that is that whenever I find something worth disposing... it reminds me of something very funny, sad, worth remembering or whatever OR it would tell me that my bros and sis could use it for further references. it's hard to be a sentimental person. or maybe I'm just too sentimental.
one day, anyway, I finally decided to try. it wasn't easy because I have, all in all there are three study tables in the house, not to mention the table I used as a shelf plus 5 full file cases, to clean up (majority of the things or rather 'junk' there are mine). but I cheered myself up by constantly reminding myself that: If I consider every single thing important, then nothing is.
so here's how i did it: I closed my eyes and sighed, took a deep breath (but you really didn't have to know that) and started to organize mt thoughts. I decided that everything is going to be divided into three groups: necessary--meaning my siblingss can use it in their studies someday, or maybe next year(this includes test papers and hand-outs); important/meaningful-- as a sentimental person, I keep every junk that reminds me of the people I spend time with e.g. my batchmates (this includes nice drawings that are really good, but they want to dispose anyway, and notes e.g. kimy thanks for the help! <not that there is such a note>
at first it was difficult to classify, simply because, I have a lot of criteria. but in the end, after three whole days, I got through it. I filled one and a half extra large trash bags (believe me, I'm not yet exaggerating) and cleared up three drawers-full of papers. it's an accomplishment, really.
when I think about it, it was quite fun because it was a way of accepting that high school is really over and college is the next step. (but still I hope to see my batchmates soon.)XD
